Hemingway’s classic The Old Man and the Sea will be brought to the stage in Contagious’ unique style. An old fisherman heads out on his last fishing expedition and goes too far and takes on a catch that will test him more than any ever before and should he even manage to bag the catch he might not even make it back to land.
Shel Silverstein’s The Devil and Billy Markham began its life as a six part epic poem in the January 1979 issue of Playboy and subsequently as a one act play presented at Lincoln Centre along with a David Mamet one act. This epic poem tells the improbable story of down-on-his-luck singer/songwriter Billy Markham. Told in classic Silverstein pentameter and set on Nashville's famed Music Row, the six chapter tome details Markham's odyssey from the legendary Linebaugh's sandwich shop, to Hell, to Heaven and then back again.
